In December of 2006 Altius and the newly formed Paragon Minerals Corporation
(a Newfoundland spin-out of Rubicon Minerals Corporation) agreed to the terms of
a joint venture partnership that will allow Paragon to earn a
100-per-cent interest in this highly prospective property in exchange for
500,000 shares
in this new exploration company.
Subsequent multiple drilling programs on the Le Marchant Zone
have been highlighted by impressive massive sulphide intersections that include:14.6 metres of
9.46% zinc, 2.13% lead, 0.81% copper, 73.4 g/t silver & 1.85 g/t gold.
The drilling has also encountered precious-metal-rich massive sulphide
mineralization (23 meters of 8.55% Zn) extending over a zone in excess of 300-metre's
of
strike length.
The property is strategically located a mere 15 kilometres southwest of the Duck Pond Mine, operated by Teck-Cominco Ltd. Both Altius' South Tally Pond property and Teck-Cominco Ltd.'s Boundary and Duck Pond deposits are contained within the Tally Pond Volcanic Belt.
